There are a lot of coloring-book-releases this autumn, and I thought I should list some of them. Some have already been released, and some are coming later in 2018.
ALREADY RELEASED:
Imaginary friends, by Karolina Kubikowska:
The polish illustrator, Karolina Kubikowska, has just released her third coloring book (thank you for telling me Matilda!), Imaginary friends. Her other coloring books are Po Drugiej Stronie Snu and Ticket to dreams. (Later I will do an interview with Karolina on my coloring book podcast, so don´t miss that!)
Halloween Fantasy coloring book, by Molly Harrisson:
This book is already released. It contains Halloween illustrations, like witches, vampires, and fall faries. It´s 26 single-sides in the book.
Wildlife wonders, by Millie Marotta:
This book is also released. It has 120 illustrations: a selection of the fan´s, and her own, favourites from all of her other books: Animal Kingdom, Tropical Wonderland, Wild Savannah, Curious Creatures, Beautiful Birds and Treetop Treasures.
I have interviewed Millie Marotta in my podcast, and here is the episode, where we talk about her new book:
Måla drömhästar, by Lena Furberg:
This coloring-book, Måla drömhästar, is Lena Furberg´s third one, and is just released. It is a folder containing 15 pictures of horses. I asked Lena about it, and she answered:
– The illustrations are a bit dreamy; a bit of fairytale, a bit of Island and some mythology, but still real horses.
Forest girl, volume 2, by Aeppol:
This book was released some days ago. It´s a new Forest girl coloring book, with new illustrations, but this time on watercolor paper (premium edition).
Wildwood soiree, by Annie Stegg:
Annie Stegg, the illustrator of Moonlit vale coloring book, released her second coloring book the 21 August. It´s called Wildwood soiree, and is also a combined coloring- and artbook.
Ruby Charms Colors Adult Coloring Art Journal, volume 1:
This book was released in September, and the follow-up (volume 2), will also be released soon (late September or October). The books have coloring pages, coloring tips and art journal pages, where colorists can play and experiment, and write down coloring combinations and things like that.
Forest spirits coloring bok vol 2, by Fabrika Fantasy:
This book is the sequel to the Forest Spirits – coloring book vol 1, and it´s just released. The book has 18 pages with fantasy illustrations, four of these illustrations are double-page spreads. From what I have read on their webside, the physical book also has six story pages, and the book size is 8,7 x 8,3 inches (22×21 cm)
COMING THIS AUTUMN:
Klára Marková:
The illustrator of Magical delights and Tenderful enchantments, Klára Marková, will be back with a third coloring book this autumn. I have been in contact with her, but everything about the new book is still a secret; like the title and the cover. She told me they are going to take pictures of the book in the end of september, so I guess we´ll know more after that!
World of flowers, by Johanna Basford:
In October, Johanna Basford is back with a new coloring book, World of flowers. A whole book filled with beautiful flowers and leaves. Some time ago I interviewed her about the book, and you can listen to it here:
Geomorphia, By Kerby Rosanes:
Kerby Rosanes, the creator of Fantomorphia, Mythomorphia and Animorphia, is releasing a new coloring book in october; Geomorphia. I read at @gizmokids Instagram, that the details is back, and that the paper is thick cardstock, with a nice tooth. She got an advance copy of this book, and wrote that it has 18 one-sided pages, 5 intro pages at the beginning of the book, and 5 pages with the ”find the items” and page thumbnails.
Gnomes in the neighborhood, by Denyse Klette.
Thank you for telling me about this book-news in October, Jessica! The illustrator of Fairies in dreamland, and Mermaids in paradise, is releasing her third coloring book soon: Gnomes in the neighborhood.
Circle portraits, by Laura Rafferty :
Laura Rafferty (@lauracolorstoo on Instagram) is releasing her second coloring book mid november (or maybe sooner). I asked her about the book, and she answered that it is 42 pages single-sided, 10″x10″ sqaure, like a lot of popular books are. The size, the binding and the paper will be different from her first book, Bluebell woods. Laura is still testing paper stock, but one of her favourites is 100% recycled post consumer waste. The cover is a collab between Maria Pain (colorist) and Laura (line art).
Earlier I interviewed Laura, for my podcast, about her background, her coloring and her first coloring book:
Slavic Beauties, by Krystyna Nowak:
Krystyna Nowak, (@ojkipopart on Instagram), is working on her first coloring book, Slavic Beauties, that hopefully will be released later this year. It will consist of 40 illustrations (35 line arts and 5 greyscales). Her 10 drawings from the Slavic Beauty series will be included in the book.
Some time ago I interviewed Krystyna about her coloring story, and her drawings:
Re-print of Sagor och sägner, by Emelie Lidehäll Öberg:
This coloring book has been sold out for a long time, but will be re-printed. I´ve been in contact with Juliet Fiss, who is a book-seller, and the person who is going to order the re-print. She hopes it will be out again in a couple of months, but right now she´s not sure when it will be printed. The reason for the re-print, she sais, is that so many people wants it. (And later I will do an interview with Emelie Lidehäll Öberg, for my podcast, so don´t miss that!)
Colorist´s special effect 3, by Helen Elliston:
This is not a coloring book, but it is a great tool for us colorista´s, so I wanted to add it to the list. Helen Elliston has made two books, with tuturials for how to color different things, and she is now working on her third book, and the plan is to release it later this year. I have seen some of the pictures for her up-coming book, on her Facebook-page, so I know there´s going to be a fairy door, a colorful rainbow, marble tile effects and a tuturial for how to color a tree.
What in interesting read! What books do you suggest for fall on art? http://segmation.com/blog/

Thank you! Do you mean art books? I´m sorry, but I´m quite a nerd, and only knows about coloring books 🙂
